Leyton Orient legends... who've never actually played for Leyton Orient
Leyton Orient legends... who've never actually played for Leyton Orient. Any more to add to this list?
Alan Judge (April 2012) - scored the 90th minute winner for Notts County against Wycombe Wanderers on the penultimate day of the season that effectively meant Wycombe could not catch us and they were relegated to League 2 instead of Russell Slade's LOFC.
Ross Worner (April 2019) - Sutton United goalkeeper who decided to play keepy-uppies in his own penalty box in the 90th minute before bringing down Macauley Bonne, who then converted the resulting spotkick to give 10-man O's a 2-1 win at Gander Green Lane on their way to the Vanarama National League title.
Jon Mellish (October 2022 - present) - Carlisle United defender who slipped over at Brunton Park to allow Theo Archibald to magnificently chip in our second goal in a 3-2 away win, and then helped us secure promotion to League One by expertly scoring the own-goal in our 1-0 win in the reverse fixture at Brisbane Road, before rounding Lawrence Vigouroux but then somehow managing to pick out the covering Omar Beckles on the line!
Jonny Williams (April 2023 - present) - scored the goal for Swindon Town that beat Bradford City and sent Orient up from League 2 despite our 2-0 defeat away at Gillingham on the same evening.

Alex Reid scored the winner when AFC Fylde beat Salford (1-0) in April 2019. After that result we only needed a point against Braintree to win promotion.

Gilligan scored for Northampton in the 90th minute on the final day to make it 1-1 against Grimsby, and because of that we only needed a point against Oxford.tuffers#1 wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:15 pmWeren't we 3rd at the start of the oxford game ? or did he score in the 2nd to last Grimsby game ?Wally Banter wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:03 pm Ryan Gilligan (I think) - scorer of the goal which secured our promotion from the 4th division in 2006.

Yes Bergs I know but we went 3rd after beating Posh & Grimsby drawing with Morecambe/Macclesfield . so we just had to Match Grimsby .Bergen wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:39 pmGilligan scored for Northampton in the 90th minute on the final day to make it 1-1 against Grimsby, and because of that we only needed a point against Oxford.tuffers#1 wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:15 pmWeren't we 3rd at the start of the oxford game ? or did he score in the 2nd to last Grimsby game ?Wally Banter wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:03 pm Ryan Gilligan (I think) - scorer of the goal which secured our promotion from the 4th division in 2006.
