If he does go in the next couple of weeks, who would you like to see come in?

Micheal Carrick might be available the way he's going lol
I think Dave Challinor (Unlkely)
Matt Harrold (if we can get close to his wages at Bournemouth)

Do it like the Royal Family, perhaps. Replace him with his firstborn.

Out of interest why do you think that? He’s never managed at senior levelE10quence wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 5:22 pm Danny Cowley, Matt Bloomfield, Dave Challinor all worth a look. Think Prats could do a job for interim period.

Re: Who would you replace Wellens snr with?
He's played the game, knows the club, players and staff, has some coaching experience, seems like someone who has standards when it comes to intensity/effort - sure he'd be able to put out a workable X1 for an interim period before a permanent appointment is made.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 6:23 pmOut of interest why do you think that? Cowley currently dangling over the L2 relegation zone.E10quence wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 5:22 pm Danny Cowley, Matt Bloomfield, Dave Challinor all worth a look. Think Prats could do a job for interim period.
Bloomfield with two relegations on his CV from his last to clubs.
Challinor bottled L1 play-offs two years in a row.
Pratley, never managed a football club before.
Hardly a list of champs, is it

Re: Who would you replace Wellens snr with?
Matt Harrold would be a great shout, but he's got a good ,reasonably secure job right now,so I think he's ruled out.

Re: Who would you replace Wellens snr with?
Challinor would be good appointment imo, but probably waiting for a bigger job than us. If we decide to ditch Wellens, the sooner the better, hiring someone for a relegation fight puts a lot of pressure on them.

We're a middling League 1 team, it's hardly going to be Pep is it.The Reverend wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 7:29 pmCowley currently dangling over the L2 relegation zone.E10quence wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 5:22 pm Danny Cowley, Matt Bloomfield, Dave Challinor all worth a look. Only one candidate . It has to be Vacuum Defence.
He knows football and how it should be played inside out plus he can get rid of CW1 and 2. We’d be in the premier league within 2 years!!

Yep, wouldn't mind it.
Paul Cook another possible option.

Have we checked that all 4 of these options will go over and clap the fans after every game....?The Reverend wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 7:29 pmCowley currently dangling over the L2 relegation zone.E10quence wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2026 5:22 pm Danny Cowley, Matt Bloomfield, Dave Challinor all worth a look. Re: Who would you replace Wellens snr with?
We have an experienced manager and a decent L1 squad. Things are not going well at the moment and we're all disappointed. A couple of wins and attitudes will change. All this anti management talk is akin to jumping off a cliff cos you're afraid you might fall.

Re: Who would you replace Wellens snr with?
Gary Bowyer for me.
Done a good job at Burton on a smaller budget than ours and they play relatively good forward thinking football, doesn't make excuses for poor performances and a good communicator added to which he has some affinity to the club with his dad having played for us in the 70's, he admitted last week in his pre match press conference that he looks out for our results and thinks we are a solid well run club.
