Any reason we can't keep this board just for Orient-related threads?

Or at least football-related, rather than arguments about the murder of Ann Widdecombe...

All this is doing is giving me the urge to create ambiguous thread titles. ("Who's our best left winger?"; "Check out this tackle!"; that kind of thing).

By asking this question in the OP it only demonstrates that the poster has absolutely no understanding of what Boardin' actually is.

I've been monitoring his posts and he's Boarding at about 3 on the Boarding Meter which when you consider the highest score available is 11 that's a very poor showing.

However, with some decent coaching I suspect he could Board at around 4 or 5.

We've been doing it like this for the last 25 odd years - so why not carry on ?
There is obviously little problem referring to recent posts. But when trying to find a historic post from 6 months ago, I would rather scroll through 50 odd pages rather than a 100. This board is only 7 years old not 25. That's the way it's always been is the best argument you can come up with! So we can't ever look to try and make it better.

Multiple incarnations of the Leyton Orient message board have existed before this one. What's always made them work is the mix of football, politics, nonsense, puns, and reverse threads.

Again, if you have a dream of how a message board should be - make one. The software's all out there, it's easy to set up - have fun, but try not to dictate to folk that they need to change their long established norms because you can't use a search function.

No ones asking for an Orient only chat, just for the board to be organised so that one can find what one wants more easily, not rocket science.
It was tried many years ago and almost killed the board
How/why?

Come for the Orient chat, stay for the deranged conspiracy theories and Restore-adjacent rants?
This forum has had many incarnations over 25 years. I think one or 2 versions back the club took over it (hence why this is the unofficial board) and did what you want, and the usage of it fell off a cliff. I couldn't tell you why, I suspect it's because some people would go to one board, and others to another so there wasn't enough activity to keep it interesting. This board was then spun up based off the original single board concept and everyone came here and the club one died.

There are just as many arguments and displays of outright stupidity on the football related ones anyway. Just read the thread title first. It’s not that difficult to avoid the ones you’re not interested in.
