Pretty definitive that when Somto is back we're switching to back four.

Richie said he wants to play a back four . I accept I'm not as tactically astute as a lot of you seem to be on here so my question is, why with the players we have fit , he can't play with a back four . It all seems to be resting on the return of Boniface.

He doesn't trust Morris in a four, think that's basically what it boils down to.

That’s Morris chucked under the bus
Might as well play big Phil there as that must be crushing for Morris to hear that.

More to the point, what does it say about Richie? When Morris was signed in January we had apparently been chasing him for 6 months!

Morris is best in a 5 as a Wingback.
Its The Lazy sods in Midfield who cant run
For our 2nd highest transfer fee paid, Idris has
looked well off the mark

Penny for Morris' thoughts knowing he's on borrowed time before Boco Island calls, great way to motivate a player!
Agree with RW on the fitness point, you can make some allowances for Gilbert and Scarlett but what's El Miz and Hayden's excuse?

Morris was one of our better performers last season, and we had indeed been tracking him for a long time. I can only assume that when we brought in Somto as cover, we took one look at him in the flesh and went "he's straight in" which must have been a massive blow to Morris' confidence.

To be fair though if Somto is better then it's down to Morris to improve his game . It's called competition

OK oh wise one - I'll bite. Tell us all about the tactics currently employed, and what you think could be changed / improved.
We've missed you by the way, MonkeyMan. Not.

Hmm, I took it for granted two or three of you on here know what you're talking about . In that case , maybe not .

Richie stated the obvious - we were poor. He doesn't seem to have any idea how to stop a talented squad of players being poor. Can't help thinking the main problem is Richie himself, and it pains me to say it.

Hayden - I have not seen him sprint once in an Orient shirt. He's adept enough to be able to get away with it for a lot of the time but not if we want to achieve anything in this league. I have a fear he's here for a pension.
FWIW I'd make him play centre back if we were short of numbers. He'd be decent at it but there would be times when he'd have to sprint there!

What's all this "just wait for Boniface" stuff. I remember this young fella doing great stuff for us attacking down the left wing. I also remember him struggling in defence at times and making the odd mistake. He's not the Messiah you know.

Ffs, you’ve got a big enough squad, now deliver.

No pressure on Boniface then, who has played the sum total of 61 minutes of league football.

He played right CB in a 3 in one of the home midweek games and was repeatedly beaten in foot races down the channels as you’d expect. He can’t play there.
I’ve still no problem with him defensively as our 6. My only concern is in possession and he doesn’t show enough.
